    My friend Ray Porter is riding The Great Divide Race in 2009. It’s 2500, completely unsupported miles from the Montana-Canada border to the New Mexico-Mexico border. This dude is over 50 and will be riding a singlespeed mountain bike. He is an animal.

    It’s not a competition, necessarily - 90% of those that start don’t finish anyway. So he’s looking for some motivation.

    Ray recently had a cancer scare in his family, and is asking folks to buy up 100-mile chunks of the route. If he makes it to that part of the race, you donate $X to the charity of your choice. He’s not handling the money directly.

    Would this be something you guys are interested in? If CFDC folks could pony up $10-$20 a pop and decide on a charity we could make a pretty substantial donation!

    (I count my workout a success if I can complete it within twice Anthony’s time. Almost made it today!!)
